Meet the Team

  • Dr. Tyler Titus, LPC (they/them)

    FOUNDER AND CHAIR

    Dr. Titus is the sole founder of Compton’s Table and serves as the board Chair. They began the nonprofit upon seeing the rates of suicide among queer youth in the United States. Dr. Titus has their Bachelor of Science in Marriage and Family Studies, a Masters in Community Counseling, and their Doctorate of Social Work. They have over 16 years of experience advocacy work. They have served as Vice-Chair of PA’s Commission of LGBTQ Affairs, Erie City School Board President, and Erie City Councilor.
    In 2017, they made history as the first openly trans-identifying person to be elected in public office in Pennsylvania. Today, Dr. Titus owns and runs their own private therapy practice located in Erie, Pennsylvania. They continue to advocate politically for queer rights as well as have a strong connection within the communities they fight for.

  • Gabe Genua (he/they)

    VICE CHAIR

    Mr. Genua serves as the Vice Chair at Compton’s Table. They have been on the board since June 2022, and have a strong passion for advocacy. Mr. Genua grew up queer in Central Pennsylvania, and their personal experiences have motivated them to work within and advocate for the community. You may know them from some of their public speaking around Erie. Mr. Genua is pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work from PennWest Edinboro. They are in the Erie Reader’s Class of 2023 40 under 40 list. Gabe has a passion for community health and advocacy.

  • Christina Salvia (she/her)

    SECRETARY

    Ms. Salvia serves as the Secretary of Compton’s Table. As an educator and member of the queer community, she is a strong advocate for queer rights. Ms. Salvia has her Bachelors of Science in English Secondary Education as well as a Masters of Science in Secondary Education Pedagogy. She inspires her students and her coworkers to be their true selves. Ms. Salvia joined the Compton’s Table board in July 2022, and continues to shine her light within the organization.

  • Dalen Michael (he/they/zi)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Dalen Michael is an advocate and fighter living in Erie, PA. They currently work as the Clinical Care Director of Central Outreach Erie, where he has worked for 7 years. He has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and 12 years in the Nonprofit industry. Dalen is the co-founder of Pittsburgh Pride Group and a founding board member of True T Pittsburgh. Zir a Legend in Ballroom and an Overseer in the Iconic House of Ebony. They serve on many nonprofit boards, including: Compton’s Table, Erie Black Wall Street, Trans Uniting, and MMLB. Dalen is a recipient of the Her Power award as an acknowledged Humanitarian. They joined the Compton’s Table Board of Directors in 2022, and continue to create a positive atmosphere and bring excellent ideas to the table.

  • Gwen Elaine (she/her)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Gwen Elaine is an artist and musician living in Erie, PA. She has had a passion for community organizing and queer advocacy since she left her home in southern middle Tennessee to pursue a studio art degree at Allegheny College. After graduating, she moved to Erie where she founded Erie Trans Picnics and joined the Compton’s Table board in June of 2022. She manages and runs Compton’s Table’s monthly Open Mic Night. Gwen is an innovative thinker and always amazes the Compton’s Team with her knowledge and musical skills.

    Anna joined the Compton's Board in May 2023.

  • Dr. Shraddha Prabhu (she/her)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Dr. Shraddha Prabhu joined the board in July of 2023. She is invested in creating healthy societies where individuals, families, and communities thrive. As an Assistant Professor at PennWest University in the Department of Social Work, her teaching and scholarship focus on issues related to intersectionality, diversity, inequity, and trauma exposure and factors promoting resiliency.

    Through her clinical work she strives to provide access to anti-oppressive, trauma-specific treatment. Her advocacy efforts focus on centering the voices and experiences of those who are faced with marginalization and continues to lead the fight for equity.

  • Dr. Courtney Lang (she/they)

    BOARD MEMBER

    Dr. Lang is a Strategic Communication, Corporate Education, and Business Development Professional. Dr. Lang spent over two decades teaching strategic communication and research analytics at the university level. She believes community, care, and compassion are our strengths. The majority of her work as a corporate education consultant is in service to these principles. Dr. Lang’s work has been published by esteemed organizations such at the Vanderbilt University Peabody College and the Organization for Autism Research. Her civic activities include empathy workshops, executive coaching, and expansive education for inclusion of all people in social and political discourse. She is passionate about Erie, Pennsylvania and all of its glorious people, places, and animals.
