Mission and Vision
In 1966 at Compton’s Cafeteria, gender-expansive people responded to the hostility they were subjected to, simply because they existed, with an act of resistance.
Compton’s Table is a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Erie, Pennsylvania. We specialize in curating safe spaces for queer and gender nonconforming people.
Mission:
Compton’s Table works to create a thriving queer community in Northwestern Pennsylvania where queer individuals are seen, valued, and affirmed.
Our Vision:
At Compton's Table, we imagine a region where queer folx are welcomed to show up as their whole selves.
How will we reach our mission?
Using a community-health model, queer folx utilizing Compton’s Table will be linked with community-based professionals who assist them in obtaining safe, competent, and inclusive services within the educational, medical, and mental health systems.
